Mariachi Jump Start is a summer program for students from 5th through 12th grade who are interested in either starting to learn or improving their skills on the violin, trumpet, guitar, or guitarrĂ³n in the mariachi style.
What is Mariachi Jump Start?
Music educators from Mariachi Aguilas and other professional musicians from the area will teach instrumental workshops during the week long program.
At the end of the week, there will be a public concert to showcase what the students have learned in the workshops.
How does it work?
The workshops will be held Monday, June 10th through Friday, June 14th, 2019 from 8am to 12pm at St. Albert the Great Newman Center. The final concert will be held on Friday, June 14th at Young Park at 6:30pm.
When and where will this take place?
The total cost of the Mariachi Jump Start summer program is $50 per student, due at the time you register. This amount includes 20 hours of instruction, a workshop book, and a light snack for each day of the program. Register before June 5th, 2019 and also get a FREE participant T-Shirt!
How much does it cost?
If you own a violin, trumpet, guitar/vihuela or a guitarrĂ³n, please bring it! If you don't own one, we will have a limited quantity available on a "first come, first served" basis. The sooner you register, the better chance you will have to reserve and use one of these instruments!
